Double Bass Unconventional ? for the Orch Audition Section

Hi all,

I'm posting this in the electric section as well, but I thought perhaps someone here might also have some ideas for a good electric piece (as a double) for an audition.

I'm trying to find something that includes melody, bass function (just grooving), and also slapping.

I understand that this is not the specific area for this question, but I'm just looking for some ideas.

That stuff is good for showing off but I wouldn't use it for an audition. If you're playing electric in college you'll be playing jazz and latin 99% of the time.

Something like Donna Lee would be ideal imo.

Haha did you know that actually isn't a bass that you hear? Its a keyboard synth thats supposed to sound like a bass.
