Unhappy with my tone

I'm traveling abroad right now and have limited gear. I'm trying to get a tone that would be good for funk/disco and I'm not coming up with results that I line.

I have a Jackson Squier PJ, a Zoom b1 FOUR, an ART DUAL X Direct, and a Zoom F4 as my audio interface.

any suggestions on how to get a good dance tone out of this gear?

the zoom b1 FOUR is for FX not tone.
ART DUAL X Direct is probably overkill when you can go direct into the 4F.
you have no amp, or preamp, or amp simulator dedicated to bass tone.

I'd start simple, bass direct into Zoom F4.
pretend that's all you have and try to get the best sound you can
fiddle with tone knob
adjust plucking position
try turning up and plucking softer ( and the reverse )

If you can't at least get closer to a sound you like the other 2 boxes won't help
