just use a Fender/Squier Jazz...<<< WHY?
they are as common as water and when you destroy it on someone's head, they can run out and buy another one the day after it was ruined.

Although my EpiBird is not anything special, I also took my pickguard off, to "expose" the wood since mine is one of those unusual ones that they used basswood, and put a mahogany laminate on top..to me, it looks WAY better naked!!!
I would love to have one of those jacksons also. Not as much as a spectorbird tho (not the Rex model, though they are cool).

That is quite stunning. Mine too used a bit of amber dye in the center section to pop the grain a bit more. Mine is a single piece of Honduran mahogany I found at a local exotic wood place near me.

Keep em comin guys. There are some VERY nice basses here so far. I'm trying to get ideas for a custom made Thunderbird bass. Just looking at the appearance at the moment. I currently have an Epiphone Thunderbird in vintage sunburst, nothing too original at all

Here's another from my collection, not a one off, but rare here in the States. It's a 1977 Greco Thunderbird II. Made in Japan, set neck construction very nice build quality, balances well. Single pick up is the loud, with very high output. This is a great Thunderbird for a modest price!
