Unknown bass manufacturer

I've been playing a 80's Sunn Mustang for five years now and I'm about to buy a bargain fretless.

BUT the make is

H & S

I've trawled the 'net quite a lot and can't find any mention of them, perhaps the bargain is to good to be true?

Can anyone help?

As far as I can determine, H&S instruments are manufactured in China to the specs of an importer/vendor in Hanover, Germany. That makes them similar to HK and other highly affordable brands that are often marketed through eBay. Quality is likely to be "OK for the price".

So would $140 plus delivery be a good price?

For a new bass, probably, as long as shipping is reasonably priced and not a hidden cost.

It's second hand
It's £70 [$140?]
the shpping costs are £15 [$30?]

I'm tempted because of the design, the price and the fact that it's fretless

Hi.

If there's any indication that the bass has seen at least some use, I'd think that's a better option than buying a brand new one. IME/IMHO of course.

There's quite a bit of necessary tweaking with any instrument and most of the on-line sellers tend to leave that to the customer...

Practically un-used would be a phrase that would scare me off.

Well it's been bought by someone else now so I'm to plan B witha ll new elctronics/pickups in my trusty heavy Sunn Mustang
