Can anyone identify the make?

It's just at the slightly wrong angle to see if it's plywood or carved. Comprehensive pics might help. Even then, it can be hard to conclusively identify a bass, but someone might be able to tell you more about it anyway. The external linings look too wide to be a Kay.

If there's an intact label, you should be able to see it through the bass side f-hole.
