Yeah, a few months ago when I had some questions about the Sliver. We're not like in constant communication, though.
If its not hard all around, no way it would survive airport baggage handlers. It would be ripped on the first trip. And even if those wheels were removable, the plastic frame for the wheels look like they would still stick out, and would likely snap under airport abuse as well.
I don’t think that’s true at all. Soft suitcases survive very rough treatment at airports, and last for years. And most of them have plastic wheels, which last quite well, too.
The question, however, is what happens to whatever’s inside the case when it’s subjected to rough handling, and since basses are fragile, this is where a hard shell becomes important. Luckily, the capsule IS hard all around, it just has fabric over the polycarbonate shell.
EDIT: The wheel frames look like painted metal to me, BTW:

Nah, I'm sticking with my SKB Roto case. I haven't done a fly date since leaving the old band I was in, and no sense me buying an expensive case when I have the SKB already. Plus there's no room to stick an SVT in it

Yeah... I was supporting their Indigogo... got a Kapsule out of the deal...
So has anyone actually tried one of these yet? It seems odd that they're currently delivering, but I can't seem to find any recent reviews of the actual product.
I’ve not seen any reviews either, but I don’t think those that have received them have had them long enough for that. Give it time.
I hate doing unboxing videos... so I won't... My plan is to do a preliminary review after it gets here... then I'm gigging with it this weekend. I'll provide some feedback - probably on Monday.
First impressions... I’m impressed. I currently carry 1 of 3 gig bags when I gig:
First, let’s compare it in size to the Mono Sleeve. Of course it’s larger than the Sleeve, but it may be comparable with the Mono Vertigo. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the size. There are a lot of handles, and each of the handles is padded well and feels great.
One of the coolest features is the amount of storage. For a gig, I feel like I can take almost everything that I need without having to take a supplemental bag like I do with the Sleeve. If I ever fly, I’m pretty sure that I could pack a weeks worth of clothes in this compartment. It might not fit into the pockets, but I could see putting 3 or 4 pairs of paints, a few shirts etc. in the top zipper part. Since I play with in ears, my pre-amp of choice is the Phil Jones Bass Buddy. I could carry the Bass Buddy, In-Ears, cables, straps, 2 iPads, a Bluetooth pedal easily.
I haven’t tried to defeat the TSA lock, but it’s a cool deterrent to keep people from randomly opening your case.
Mine came with 2 basic accessories. There is a pouch for the Boveda humidity control pack. This pack adds/removes humidity as needed, and it also comes with wheels.
I tried it with both a 35” scale and 34” scale bass. There is plenty of room in this case for either. It does come with a removable foam block at the bottom. It does not secure with Velcro, you just kind of pace it there. I found that I needed to use it with both basses. So, if you have an extended range bass that is 36” or longer, it should actually fit!
I find the straps to all be really high quality. There is a strap on the top that can be used to pull the case, there is a strap that can be used to lift from the back, and the fasteners seem to be of reasonable quality.
Wheeling it around the house was easy. I have had luggage that has been harder to roll than this.
Carrying it is easy too. It’s light, and the semi-rigid back keeps the case stable.

Wow, that looks like a truly excellent case, though I'd be a little concerned how the fabric holds up when the airport baggage monsters get hold of it. More than I'd want to spend, for sure, but I can see the appeal.
I have found one thing... As I was packing up to head out, I realized that the top part, where they pictured people placing amplifiers etc... well... that doesn't lock! So, while no one can walk away with the bass, they have easy access to the accessories.
Part 2... the place where they would like you to store the bluetooth tracker isn't secured either. So... what would prevent someone from unzipping it... tossing it... then walking away.
This greatly changes what I was expecting to carry in the top.
I could put a little lock on the zipper... but...
Final post before I run out the door for soundcheck... I put a Glockenklang Blue Soul in the top. It stretches the capacity. We shall see how it stands up tonight.

For kicks and grins, I tossed a Glockenklang Blue Soul amp into the top along with a Neutrick cable, power supply, strap, chord. The Blue Soul weighs about 11 1/2 pounds.
The Kapsule had no problems carrying it, but I probably wouldn't do it again as the weight at the bottom made the case unbalanced.
2 more rehearsals and 5 more shows between now and 12/24...
There is a deep crease in the top of the case... I'm not sure where it came from. I'll see if it corrects itself over the next few days.
