upgrade time for MIJ fender p-bass lyte

i just took my MIJ Fender p-bass lyte('94 i think) in to get cleaned up and worked on and i'm looking to upgrade the pickups.

the bass has the p and j style pickups, as well as active electronics. i was thinking of putting in seymour duncans, possibly quarter pounds. however, the tech informed me many seymour duncans are passive.

i like the seymour duncans due to the punch they pack, but the guy also mentioned EMG's are pretty meaty too.

i'm kind of stumped as to what to put in...any help here?

Ive got the LYTES & in DELUXE also but the sound isnt the best on the Deluxe. The stock p/u of the Standard Lyte are mid focused & loud as & sounds great to me.I dont want to change the sound of that one but the `Deluxe Lyte` has a funny double sized Jazz p/u thats pretty hard to find in that exact size & its sounds like crap & so does the Preamp in it so thats going in the bin. Sooner or later im gong to change the preamp & get a brand new Double jazz from the AM Fenders they are on Ebay.If i cant do that i might even glue 2 Jazz p/u (also seen that done here).
SD Q P are great pickups for this bass.I know a heap of Lyte owners that have changed their p/u to Quarter Pounders with great success.
