Was thinking about upgrading my gear with either a Avalon u5 or a good outboard preamp..
Have been recording directly to my focusrite scarlet 2i2 interface so far with pretty good results, but the noise floor is really loud and annoying. What should I invest in to get a nicer and cleaner tone? Will an expensive good preamp get me there or a nice DI like the avalon? The preamps in the scarlet is supposed to be pretty good
