Unless you buy some kind of mechanical extension, it's not a matter of brands, but which luthier you choose to custom make and fit it for you.

My favorite is the robertsons extension, Chris threlkeld too, also Mario lamarr, I would steer clear of leather closers

If you are anywhere near Boston, call Dennis Roy. He did my low C, as well as a complete neck graft. My bass never played or sounded better.

Whoever you get to put the wood part on, I can personally recommend the capos of basscapos.com. They work great.

?? Keyed extensions excepted, I thought all closers used leather for the string contact surface.

Leather closers are great. They sound better than fingers. I have the ones from basscapos.com as well. The maker is on here and very friendly and will work with you to make sure they fit your extension.
