URGENT Drummer may have fried my WT800

Just posted this on the Eden forum, cross posting might help me find an answer quickly.

Rig is a WT800B, cab is a 4x10 XLT. I'm hoping this is just a blown fuse, or something equally simple to fix.

My drummer hosts a weekly open mic, which I usually attend. Tonight I had a separate rehearsal in a space with a house amp - got a call from him as I was leaving asking if he could use my rig since there wan't space in his car for his combo. Sure, no problem, I walk him through the process of setting it up correctly.

Show up around 11:30 to find out that he thought it was a good idea to plug in a chord from the left and right channels into each of the holes in the cab. A minute after he turned it on the sound cut out. Just brought it home, fired it up, no sound through headphones. EQ section doesn't light up, power switch does.

If anybody out there can help me I would really appreciate it. I have five shows Thurs-Sat and am pretty screwed right now.

Pulled the fuses, one has black smudges inside - will buy a new one tomorrow and report back.

Didn't need one, there was a second fuse included - it fried as soon as I turned on the amp. Anybody know an amp tech in southern VT / western MA?

I owned a WT400 back in the day.. 1999-2000, dang.. I'm old.
Anyway, it sounded awesome but went through fuses like tic-tacs.
I remember having to keep a pack of spares in my bass case...

most likely the output transformer... maybe the power trans as well...which will suck for him.

there is no output transformer on any ss bass amps except the warwick hellborg power amp.

i think it's just the fuse. it probably burned out to keep your amp from getting ruined.

Well, that is the whole purpose of fuses. But since his second fuse blew immediately, there is obviously something messing up inside.

Unless his spare fuse was entirely the wrong rating.

I once let my drummer touch a bass amp (luckily the schools not mine ) and he turned the gain up full blast and the volume about quarter way, just before he played a note both me and the guitarist almost litterally dived for the amp.
Also my freinds guitar hass a HUGE dent in its neck cos of a drummer aswell

So, the news on this is no news - we had arranged to drop the amp in Boston before a gig last week but the tech decided to "go on vacation" that morning. So no service.

From the drummer's account, he used the left and right amp channels - nothing wrong there - but sent them into a single cabinet. Not really sure what could have gone wrong.

Bsically he plugged the output of one side of the amp into the other side. Bad move...
