We do offer chambering on US basses. With the Saratoga specifically, you need to be a little extra careful with it for balance reasons. The headstock shape, neck construction options and fingerboard choice would all factor into this, naturally.

This one is definitely a beefy beast!

Donovan mentions the balance and I think I fall in the camp that I'd rather have a balanced bass than a light one. With the right combo, you can certainly have both! A weight conscious spec would get you right around 8 lbs in most cases.

I just got a Kingston Saratoga Deluxe fiver with the full Bartolini/Hipshot upgrades. Sounds amazing, crazy versatile, and possibly the most comfortable/ergonomic bass I've ever played, five or four string. From the neck to the body shape, it feels so comfy. I'd rock that one in a heartbeat, that weight is no biggee IMO with such a good design, and I'm a smaller dude.

I haven't played more than a handful of Saratogas but none of the ones I tried were anywhere near as heavy as 11 lbs.

Granted mine's a Kingston, so, different wood, but mine is about 8.7 lbs. Balances great, wouldn't want it any lighter. Would love a US one someday, maybe a PJ or double reverse-P. I'm sold on the MTD thing. The neck and playability are to die for.

It's Jazz-like, but definitely its own thing. Very warm and gooey in the mids. Maybe that's the Barts talking (this is my first bass with Bart pu's and pre).
