USB Audio Interface with Inserts

Hello All,
Does anyone know of a current product anything like the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] which has four mic pres with inserts in small form factor? Seemed like a smart little product but I guess there wasn't enough demand to keep it alive and updated.

Key attributes would be:
1) Four or more mic pres
2) Inserts between the pres and the A/D converters
3) Small form factor

You don't see many interfaces with inserts for two reasons:

1. Modern interfaces tend to use preamps that are so clean and flat that stacking another device in front of them won't typically cause any issues or excessive coloration that would necessitate the need for an insert. An insert would also be more "stuff" to put in the box and would drive up cost. The Alesis unit is an anomaly as hitting a budget-friendly price point for these types of interfaces is usually priority number one. Even budget stuff from Mackie using their Onyx preamps is shockingly good in terms of flat response and high headroom. If budget is an issue don't sweat the inserts and just run what you want in-line.
2. If budget is not an issue you might as well just get a dedicated set of converters and use preamps and other gear (presumably EQs and compressors) into the chain wherever you'd like without the need for an insert at a manufacturer's predetermined placement.

I found the current, upgraded equivalent...

don't sweat the inserts and just run what you want in-line

Rack equipment with line level I/O doesn't work well between a mic and mic pre.

there are no inserts on my audio interface. i run mic --> preamp --> compressor --> interface.

Be sure to check that the inserts you’re hoping for can accept line level as well. If the front end can’t handle line level it’s conceivable that the converters they’ve paired with it can’t either.

Yes, the inserts on the Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD and UMC204HD are line level.
