Double Bass using a double bass mute when amplified

Hi all just had a thought about controlling the sound on stage any maybe reducing overtones and feedback. Has anyone tired or have any thoughts on using a double bass mute on a highly resonant bass in my case fully carved. I wonder it might work similar to using foam on an electric bass?

The more resonant the bass, the harder it will be to amplify. You could try a heavy practice mute like this:Accessories for Upright Bass - Mutes - Gollihur Music

Here's what I use on my Yamaha SLB 300 EUB. I use it to control the sustain. I've never used it on my acoustic upright, but I've put it on and played it to hear the result. Just somewhat muted, increasing the thump, as advertised.

My full size/full carve Czech is a hot mess to amplify. I’ve put a wedge of foam between the fingerboard and body and another between the tailpiece and body. Dampening the body makes a big difference.
