Using a pick with flats

I've been putting off a Scott Lafaro transcription for months, but I figured out this tune the day I heard it

I bust out the good 'ol plectrum every so often. I used one on Friday, on a Squier P-Bass with Fender flats, at my college's praise chapel for some more rockin' songs. Sounded great!

i got a package of 1mm Dunlop tortex when i got back into playing in Janurary...

last night i decided to learn to use a pick ... i love the tone with these Invalid Link Removed

now practice time is doubled as i have to do everything with my fingers and then a pick ...

La Bella flats on my 74 P plus the addition of a Sansamp for spicy. My picks are Jim Dunlop, light blue or violet ones.
My set have 2 years old and are fresh like the first day, without special care.

I caught this bug, big-time last year.

I'm really hooked on the attack I get with certain setups. I like a certain amount of treble to really catch the "click". Brighter flats / single coil pickup / treble from the amp, all that comes into play. Then of course the lows for the "thump"!

Forgot to mention, 2 words: palm muting.

needless to say, I'm a flats guy. Schecter bass, LaBella Deep Talkin, Tubescreamer, lots of bass forma a 1*15 speaker, no tweeter... PUNCH!
