Using an Amp as effect!

i want to connect my secondary amp (Roland Cube-30 ) and use it as distortion (with high boosted gain) to my primary(Hiwatt Maxwatt b-100).

as u know the Roland one has only an output(recording out/phone) and the Hiwatt has active and passive line in.

is it possible ?! and how?! which input should i use?!
im worry about the input signal would be too strong for my hiwatt.

If you're using the cube30 as the overdrive sound then you probably want to have the hiwatt setup as a clean sound. So I would first plug the bass into the hiwatt and set it up to get a clean tone at the total volume you want to be playing at. Then plug your bass into the Roland and the Roland into the hiwatt with the volume knob on the Roland turned down at first. Now turn everything on and slowly turn up the Volume on the Roland until you have the desired volume coming out of the hiwatt.
