Using music equipment as a home system:)

I needed a gaming sound system set up as i was just running it through the tv speakers. I took some old Radio Shack P.A's called "Entertainers" with Electro-Voice speakers in them, and slaved them to my old Carvin 160 watt head.

Lo and behold, i have my den sound system:)

Has anyone else used old music equipment for home use?

I haven't, but when I worked at a music store in the early/mid '70s, we had a Roberts open reel tape recorder as the source for demos and that's where I first heard Wired and Blow By Blow. I have a friend who got tired of consumer grade stuff failing and sounding like crap in his 2400 ft² garage, so he bought a Peavey power amp.
