Yep, using it a lot, shamelessly. Sometimes, i even use left / right hand tapping to sort things out.

Yes, baroque keyboard is a b*****. I feel like a newbie bass player. Except its like playing two basses at once. The cool thing is that with practice, you can actually see progress.

And running chord progresssion cycles and transposing to all 12 keys against the metronome. Tough work and I am slowly getting it. The metronome does not lie.

Nothing improved my musicianship more than getting serious about playing piano. Granted I was only serious for about 5 minutes but those 5 minutes were gold.

Btw, there are apps that measure your playing bpm and graph how much it varies.

Time is a big issue for my jazz combo class. I often feel like i am pulling several boxcars to hold a steady tempo. Especially if there is no drummer. On the other hand, just me playing behind my professor taking a solo is a pure delight. Absolute rock steady. He has pleaded with the class to work with a metronome set on 2 and 4. It may get medieval.

On the piano. Mr. M keeps me honest. There is no fudge (rubato) in baroque piano.

Yes, I hate it when there is no drummer and I am the beat master. Thank goodness John is there 99.9% if the time.
