Using the Sansamp RBI this way...?

I'm looking to exchange my big heavy rack set up for one of these new lightweight d amp heads. I find that I really like the sound of the GK RBs and that gritty dirt found there so obviously there's the MB800 that I'm looking for. Problem is the MB is reviewed to be super clean and I don't need that. So, I'm using the RBI in my rack and that thing gets dirty. So, can you use the RBI in conjuction with the MB800?

Yes you could plug the RBI into the GK effects return bypassing the GK preamp or send it through the GK effects loop using the 50/50 jacks ( I think) on the RBI which would allow you to use the GK preamp in conjunction with the RBI. That's a lot of eq though the two pres might not get along.
Hope this helps,
Brent

You know, I've been playing music since about 92 and I've had several heads, all peavey, and never had any issue or failures at all. Since I've changed to a pre/ power set up I've had two power amp failures and I read about power amps going down all over these forums. I "think" I just want to simplify and go back to a head. ...I think. But yeah, that was an option.

Heads can certainly fail too but I get it that you're looking to simplify. I did the same thing recently. Switched from a Tone Hammer Pedal/Power Amp to the TH 500 head.
