Valve Bass Pre-Amp - Calling all electronics buffs!

Hello all,

Right, plain and simply i like to fiddle!

I am after an easy schematic for a Valve pre-amp that i can put into a little FX type box for my bass. I would prefer that it is low voltage as mains can hurt!

Can anyone help????

I know its a daft one but i really like to fiddle!!!!

I have some basic electronics knowledge and can operate a soldering iron.

Thanks all, Rich.

You want low voltage and tubes eh? Usually those two don't go together... :p

I'd say for best luck, turn to google. I'd also check out a forum like DIY audio. Those doodz are helpful and can have some good recommendations.

Are you aiming for OD, distortion, just a "tube feel," or what?

I was looking for one, and this one came up off the top of my head, and a google search. The Real McTube: Invalid Link Removed

Edit: check the effects area too... that might cater more to pedals. Or a preamp preamp, amps board! :p

I was looking for just a valve sound/feel. No OD or distortion just valve warmth.

You can get LV valves & I have tried google most are mains and require custom transformers which all gets a little too much of a bind.

I was looking along theses lines

Just thought it would be fun to build one rather than pay someone else to do it for a change!!!! I wish i had paid attention in electronics class!
