Vanity Plates

Those are good. I have a sort of a vanity plate. No sayings or anything, but I opted for the plate that supports my alma mater.

edit: Not my actual plate. That's the state-provided example. However, when I was looking at buying a Chevelle SS, I was going to get the Spring Hill College plate w/ SS396 rather than the SHC#. SHC396 is already taken, and in Alabama, the collegiate plates can only be transferred to a spouse or child, and only if the vehicle is transferred also.

Two clever ones that I saw years ago come to mind:

"UB6-IB9"

The father of a drummer I played with was a gyno. His plates were:

"BPDITWW"

Here's a clue to figure it out. "B" stands for Best and "WW" stands for Whole World. Keep his profession in mind. ;)

I was stuck living/working in NoVA earlier this year and it seemed like vanity plates were a requirement down there.

yeah, but a majority of them are pretty lame. such as "06 BMW" or "2005 C5" etc etc.

my theory is why spend the money on the vanity plate that says the same thing as the badges on the trunk. a person has already paid for that advertising, why do it again?

Mine was $40 a year, not that expensive, and it can make a car stand out even if it says something lame.

It makes remembering your licence plate number pretty easy too. Not that it should be difficult, hell I have my VIN memorized.
