Vantage 930B, Can thin be too thin?

In my quest to get a non Fender P/J fretted bass, I picked up this Vantage 930B. I wasn't able to find any info on it so I was shooting totally in the dark. So now its been with me a couple weeks and its a wonderful piece of workmanship except... the neck is so D*MN thin (front to back). Is it possible for a neck to be too thin or will I get used to it over time? It reminds me of the old Mosrite guitar I played back in the day... come to think of it, I used to switch between it an a Gretsch Country Gentleman routinely, so maybe there's hope?

My brother in law has the same bass, I actually really like the neck on those. Has a nice feel IMO. I wouldn't worry about it being too thin as long as you're comfortable with it.

I have the same bass. I got it in '92 when I was 15. Neck through. I replaced the pickups with EMG and the BTS tone circuit in 93. It has a neck that reminds me of the SoundGear models from Ibanez. They are probably pretty close if you played one back to back.

Its a solid bass i really like the P pickup soloed. I also really like the sound of both pickups. Nice slap sound with that combo. The J pickup soloed is pretty thin sounding as it is very close to the bridge. Not a bad sound just thin.

I do like the bass. Not many people have that bass, but it is a winner it my book. I would probably grab another if i found one at a good price.

By the way mine is the same color

Oh and to your original question, no the neck is not too thin as long as you are comfortable with it.
