Double Bass Velvet String installation

I have a velvet anima string to be installed on my bass, and I am wondering which way to put it through my bridge. They are one way in the first picture, and the opposite in the second. Is one the "correct" way, or does it even matter at all?

Sorry the 2nd is correct haha. Where the string can be placed behind the tailpiece. I'm not sure what makes the first incorrect but that's (2nd photo) how velvet tells you to install them

The pamphlet that came with my Garbos clarifies - string goes under the tailpiece, loop over (per the all-yellow-string-ends picture, which I guess we're referring to as the second pic) for Garbos, Blues, and Animas. I'm sure that there's a reason why these strings install this way while their others (Compas) don't.

It does not matter at all as long as you install them the same way.
If you mix them with other strings, do it the way which is most similar to the way the other strings are installed.

The Velvet way minimally increases the downforce on the bridge. Same as installing a steel string upside down

That's not correct. The tailpiece would move into a different position, but the underlengths are in the exact same position unless you mix the mounting method across the strings.
