I know. I said the same thing while banging on the steering wheel and laughing, about two blocks down the road after I picked it up.

It's actually the first thing I noticed when I went to look at it. The neck is actually very solid (the whole thing is solid) but someone with a bit more experience than I needs to look at it. The button separating like that does concern me a little, but only a little. Doesn't look like it has moved in decades. This bass needs a little TLC but seem in overall pretty good condition considering it was in a Miami pawn shop in 'the hood.'

Thanks, Jake. I guess even if it needs some dollars to make it right it was still a steal. The sound is very "Juzek-esque". Maybe I'll try and make some sound clips.

I've been doing a lot of Googling.. I still can't find any info on the name or what the year may be of this bass. Anyone have an idea or a direction they can lead me?

May well be an import sold out of a shop in Caracas, rather than "made in Venezuela"

I think it's a prime candidate for a removable neck conversion!

Poor thing has spool clamps on it at the moment. Someone let her go around with an open seam.
