Ever take a look at these for cheapie 12's ? Thoughts ? Just curious mostly, but if they seem like a workable option, they're certainly priced affordably...

Besides Duke's questions, here is the second comment on their website from someone who ordered and tested a pair:

"I ordered a pair for a Klipsch Heresy clone project. Tested them on WT2 upon arrival. Vas 122 lit, qt .64, Fs 44, spl 90db versus vas 66, qt .4, Fs 35, spl 96 published specs. Way off specs and couldn't use for my project. MCM allowed me to return for full refund. Beware of the published specs which are not even close."

Are the suggestions you made in the "General Rules..." thread, directly transferable to the Beta 12A2´s?

Yup, that would work pretty well for a vented box with a pair of Beta 12A2's. If that box is too big for you, reduce the internal volume to 3.0 cubic feet and increase the port length to 8 inches. Those internal volume figures include an allowance for the driver and the ports, and you can ignore the small amount of additional internal volume taken up by any bracing.

Two Eminence Beta 12A-2 drivers, in a 4-cubic-foot (internal) cabinet that is tuned to 40Hz by a 4-inch-diameter by seven-and-eleven-sixteenths-inch-long port, will give you a cabinet with the same overall sonic profile as a SVT-810! ;) It will be 4-ohms and loud (120db at only 95 watts input!). A dream cabinet for the PF-350. Finished, this loaded cab will weigh about 45 pounds if constructed with cheap 1/2" A-C grade plywood.

That is EXACTLY what I´m after! The 810 is sealed. The SVT210AV is supposed to be voiced like the 810 and is sealed. That´s mainly why I´m thinking sealed. But I understand ports should be considered.

If you go with multiple ports, you have the option of plugging some of them which lowers the tuning frequency, thereby more closely approximating the slow rolloff characteristic of a sealed box. You can of course go all the way to sealed by plugging all of the ports, but that will probably sound too lean unless you're getting a lot of boundary reinforcement from the room. Speaking of which, multiple pluggable ports gives you another tool for dealing with boomy rooms.

Thanks a lot Duke and b-b-b-bass! I´m probably able to get a SVT210AV sooner than I thought. Maybe in a week or two. If so, Ill try that out before I decide on my build. But several pluggable ports seems the smart way to go. Especially when getting the SVT. I´m new to this and need to try out different things.

what about the 12 pro-450's that eminence now has with 56 oz magnets

the 210AV is a great cab. 2 of them is even better.
