Very confused about my new Bass

Hey! I just bought a almost new Bass off of Ebay, and I've got a few questions on the whole thing.

The Item name was a "Epiphone Thunderbird XII Voodoo Bass, flat black"
This is what It looks like.

I got it for 265$, that includes Shipping and the Hardshell Case.

But what I can not figure out is the reasoning for the XII inlay on the 12th fret, and why it has a Voodoo plate on the head of the guitar!

I'm very confused about this whole thing.
I know that it's basically a Thunderbird IV, or a Thunderbird Goth
But I was just wondering if any other Bassists could shed some light upon my situation.

:help:

Thanks a ton!

i have one of those... the pickgaurd was actually pretty cool too. I was actually excited to see a tbird with red and black grain, but i didnt remeber a vodoo bass. This bass IMHO is very one dimensional... fat as hell... but for under 300 bucks i wouldnt say you were had at all.

The Voodo series were a short run produced by Gibson a few years back. they also did Les Paul versions with the satin black finish with red grain filler.

Yeah, but that isnt from the voodoo series.

The voodoo ones were on swamp ash and as you said, it was black with the red grain filler not matt black. Im also not sure if they made a voodoo bass tho
