Well pulled the trigger on a new Fender Victor Bailey Jazz Fretless :hyper:

Should have it in a day! So stay tuned!

I really love that wood combo, Koa/Rosewood/Mahogany. And if the 18V preamp is half as good as the one in my Am Deluxe FMT Jazz, I know I'll love the bass. I've heard fretted VB's and loved the sound.

Congrats!!! I love the look of that bass!!! such an excellent wood combo. I just got my new Fender Custom Shop Jazz and I put the Aguilar OBP3 pre amp in it. Ahh modern fusion tone to die for!!!!! But i've played fretted and fretless Victor Baileys and there is not much you'll need to do to that thing, they sound great. My favorite looking sig model by far

That poor Carvin looks a little out of place in your list of basses! May I ask about the Fender Jazz 24 Fretless? Do you have a pic of that?

It is the Cherry Burst bass on the right:

Me too!!! I have a Victor Bailey 5str which sounds incredibly good with my Markbass LMII head and 2 Aguliar GS112 cabs. Fingerstyle heaven.

The lamination compresses the tone a bit but the PU and pre, which is subtle (except the mids), deliver a very rich tone. Richer than my Sadowsky RV5.

Wow, this is a thread I started a few years ago!

Yep, it was by far one of the nicest playing and sounding jazz style fretless bass I've owned. Fender really hit the mark with the VB basses. The only fretless I've played better to date is the fretless Sadowsky I have now.
