Victory Bass Appreciation Thread

I just bought a Gibson Victory Artist Antique Fireburst today for $600 and couldn't be happier with the tone of this monster!
Would love to hear from other owners of this bass to geek out with... I feel like I won the lottery with this bass...

Playing through my Ampeg SVT-VR and Trace Elliot 1148h

I win today!

$600 is a good but not amazing price. These simply don't reach the heights of many other models to be honest, and for no good reason. They are well designed and nicely built basses, but just a bit too new to get the vintage label.

Not long though - I expect these to rise in value over the next 5 years: they are great functional basses, with a distinctive look. Quite unusual for a Gibson, but retaining some great Gibson features.

Check out this page, where Chuck Burge talks about the design of the bass

I love my Victory. I put a thumbrest on mine because the edge of the pickup was too close to the e string but I gig mine out all the time.
