Vox Pathfinder bass amp

I will buy a bass in exactly a week.

I was about to buy the Vox Amplug Bass to learn without bothering the young family... but the Pathfinder 10 Bass seems to offer more versatility.

If users of this amp could comment the sound quality of this amp when using the headphones, I would appreciate!

I have been looking at this as well in comparison to the amplug. I figure for an extra 60$ thats what i would have paid for headphones, and the amplug kinda limits the sound.
I have played the Orange 20B and 35B and both where way to loud for my apartment, i couldnt turn them past 4....

I would love any input on how this sounds.. Anyone?

Here it is with my Hot Rod Jazz, its a great little amp I wouldn't suggest knocking it until you've tried it.

Oh man, thats pretty high response i dont know anymore haha

I have played a 20 watt practice amp, IMO it was to loud for what i wanted. I wanted to hear what i was playing but keep that sound in my own apartment. I dont want the people above or below me complaining. If you live in a house where thats not an issue a 20 Watt amp would be nice but that sound spans rooms. (The 1/4 Watt setting on my Vox AC4TV guitar amp is TOO loud for me, if that helps my situation)

With these speakers does it even sound like its through a bass amp, or just a guitar amp with the bass cranked?

Honestly, I'm getting a pretty good sound out of this thing, but I'm not sure of the freq response. I'll try to post clips within the week so you guys can get a feel for what it sounds like. Personally I love it for low volume noodling and headphones, and the slap tone I get out of it is excellent. That said, if you're looking for something to jam at loud volumes with I don't believe it'll cut it. I use it when I'm playing with my friends acoustic/folk/bluegrass band at low volumes and it does the job well. Its all comes down to what you're planning to do with this amp.

I bought one of these little amps, purely because it was so cheap, and looked great. It IS an open-backed, 2x5 cab, but the thing sounds great. I mean, not just for a $100 amp, but just in general, it's got great tone. Not much volume, but hey, it's 10 watts through a pair of 5" spkrs. I certainly wouldn't suggest this to someone as an "only" practice amp, but if you're like me, and already own a bunch of nice bass gear, this little Vox is a great addition.

Finally getting one tomorrow, it was on order and it will be here soon. It is my "only" practice amp, my svt 410hlf and Yba 3 head is far to loud and big for a bedroom lol

I played some other practice amps, and honestly they where all to loud for practice (for me) i want something as loud as i listen to the radio, not something that the entire house hears....
We shall see!
