Vox Pathfinder Bass or Markbass Micromark

Hello!


I´m in pursuit of a small amp for home practice. So far I have two options, a Vox Pathfinder or a second hand Markbass Micromark (discontinued model).

Yes I know the brand Markbass is awesome but since is only for home practice and small volume is the key...is the Vox Pathfinder a great option or it would be dumb not to go for the Markbass? The Markbass is more expensive.

The Pathfinder sounds good going into a bass cab, but not with the original speaker that is meant for guitar.

Personally I would get a modeller with a small 2-4 channel mixer and run it into headphones.

The Markbass would be fun, but not sure how quiet

The Vox Pathfinder B10 Bass has a Speaker meant for guitar? I´ve tried the markbass and it is very good. The only "problem" is the price for something to practice in a room.

Oh, that one would probably be pretty decent for low level playing. The one's I have seen is the the guitar one's, and I have one of those.

I previously had the vox, but sent it back after having quality problems after 1- 1/2 weeks if ownership. The voice coil in the speakers (two 5 inch speakers that are 4 ohms connected in series for 8 ohms) rattled and i was only pushing the amp to 3/8 the volume, settings set low, no brightness, nor distortion turned on.

Guitar was set at 1/2 volume, and bass and treble at there 1/2 way default detents.

I swapped it out for a fender rumble 20w. 1-8" speaker / amp combo that i am waiting for the fedex guy to deliver to my door.

I'd go with anything other than that amp.

The MicroMark is a far better amp, well worth the initial cost.

Althought beeing more expensive, I will go for the micromark. I know you only get the real tone of you bass in a more powerfull AMP but its sound is amazing.

And since is so small I can put it anywhere when im not playing.
