Vox Satchurator

I'm not up on my Satch, but I'd be willing to bet that it's either a DS-1 or Tube Screamer with a fancy paint job.
In looking at the pics, I say TS also. I have one here that I modded to have a boost and everything. Wow, now if I just shave my head...

Eep! Sorry for the total derail......
Sounds a little buzzy to me on the higher gain settings, but I am interested in hearing it myself. No clue how it will sound on bass, though, I am mostly interested for guitar.
my guitar player has one it sounds great for what it is intended for on bass ... who knows ...I am not really interested in its tones it so nicely voiced for guitar
I'll bet that whatever the pedal is based on - the sub 100hz area has been drastically decreased.
Something to know - even a guitar in C tuning with the lowest string dropped to Bb(1) would have a second harmonic of 116.54hz
AND most OD pedals that are hot rodded do so by lessening the fundamental tones and playing up the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th harmonics.
AND while the Low punch of a bass is rocking around 250hz -i think most agree that having a little bit around 60 to 80 hz really helps the feel of the bass guitar - ESPECIALLY when overdriven.
SO - if guitar only pedal modders are thinking of a particular artist that almost exclusively uses a fluid, sustaining, overdriven tone - they are going to be a pedal that lessens the 100hz territory - resulting in a pedal that "loses it's low end."
YMMV- but I'll bet people that use this pedal will comment on how it cuts the lows.

ZOMBIE THREAD REVIVAL! Searched for Vox Satchurator bass and found this old thread and a vid--I know resurrecting threads is frowned upon, but listen to the Vox in this clip on bass....to me, it sounds like the "guitar" portion of Dug Pinnick's signal! Meaning, run in parallel with a super low-end only signal, you could get that awesome bass sound from King's X songs like Pretend....especially if you're budget-minded(like me) and your local independent music store is selling the Vox for $29.99!!!! Check out the clip and let me hear the opinions!
