Vox Stomplab 1B Bass Multi Effects Pedal as DI?

I'm primarily a guitar player. I was wondering if there was a way to use the Vox Stomplab 1B Bass MultiEffects Pedal as a DI for recording into a DAW. I like that its appears simple to use and has several available sounds. If this won't work as a DI can someone suggest something else? Thanks for all replies!

I don't own a Stomplab IB, but after a cursory review of the owner's manual, it seems that it would work fine as a DI. Two notes:

• There is a "Bypass" mode (for bypassing the effects, modeling and noise-reduction features) and a "Mute" mode (for tuning, disconnecting instruments, etc.). You'd want to engage the "Bypass" mode only for DI functionality. See page 8.
• There is means for setting the output level ("A1" for instrument-level connections and "Ln" for headphones/line-level connections) depending on what kind of DAW input you'll be connecting to. See page 11.

Almost every multi-effects box has DI functionality these days. Whether you'll actually be happy with the result will depend upon your ears. I use an older Line 6 Bass POD all the time in this role, and it works for my needs.

I have a Stomplab 2b that I use for bass and a Stomplab 2g that i use for guitar. The line-out to a mixer works really well. The Stopmplabs are small enough that I carry them in my instrument cases along with my cables. I can show up late, plugin, tune, play, collect my check, and leave.

I've been using them for about 10 years. I've tried other units, but have never felt the need to replace them. Hope you find this hellpful.

I used the Stomplabs for recording in the past. But now I record raw and add effects later. The Stomplabs sounded good, but raw is better.
