Double Bass Waiting for my new case

This is going to be it in 3/4 size- mine is next in line for production and should arrive before christmas. Pics look pretty great I'll have to say.

My Mooradian Deluxe is disintegrating after 18 years of continuous use and lots of travel. I decided to up the ante a little and go with those.

I should add, the one in the picture is the very first one the company made under their new owners, after Glenn Cronkhites retirement. So, in order to see if everything turns out as planned, this one is deemed a "sample" and mine is built next. They promise to be the finest and most durable cases available, let's see how this holds up.
If they are anywhere near as good as Glenn's originals, it's fantastic. Those original Glenn Cronkhites were literally built to last for decades.

How is the padding at the edge of top and back. My mooradian is not good enough there. I also see they do not list full size covers, just 7/8. Do they make custom larger versions?

I think I recall they have 7/8 and large 7/8 sizes. I might be wrong. You can always ask...
As for the padding, if it's along the lines of what Reunion Blues offered when they still made bass cases (Cronkhite was with them before they moved production to China), you won't find weak spots anywhere on the case. But I can only definitely answer that once mine has arrived. I'll keep you posted.

Is it waterproof? That would serve Eudoxas well.

My guess before seeing it would be that, like the Mooradian or other Cordura bags, they wouldn't qualify as "waterproof" as in "take it under the shower for 45 minutes full-blast and your bass inside stays desert-dry". However, Cordura is rather dense, the foam under it is thick and dense, and it will take a long time to actually let water through. I'd call this "waterproof within reason". Back in the day, I primed the Mooradian with shoe waterproofing spray and that did the rest (I did this maybe twice or three times tops through the course). I have never, in 18 years, had any water seeping in, and I've transported my bass through rain quite often.

... I have to use huge plastic bags inside my well worn cheapo bag...

Sounds kinda stylish... :-) No seriously, that sounds like a real upgrade motivation. All I can say so far is, Glenn Cronkhite bags is a dream to deal with- super fast response times on emails and very helpful. You can get them in leather as well, if you're particularly rich and strong. They're really really sweet, but really heavy. Waterproof, OTOH, is not an issue then.

If your new case is anything like my old Reunion Blues, you’ll be cursing the weight until you bump into something and your bass emerges intact.

Absolute beast of a cover.

I know those- one of my students has one. While I think it's a little on the hefty side weight wise, it oozes "tank", and that was what I was going for as well. Plus, while I kept using it for very long afterwards, my Mooradian had a broken zipper on the wheel compartment literally 4 weeks into using it. One of the latches of the shoulder strap has been broken for years now... I never bothered with returns or anything, figuring it's a pain because I'm located in Europe and I bought it directly from the factory. And I was ok with the padding, but a few months ago, an incident that caused severe damage to my bass (the scroll broke right off- horrible. I'm glad it's fixed now) had med thinking- if that had happened with one of those stiff type bags, I likely wouldn't have had a problem.
