So - as much as I like Tom Waits, and as much as I am ambivalent at best regarding Diana Krall, I just can't get into Tom Waits version of his own song, and I rather like Krall's interpretation. Check out the Christian McBride intro...

I must agree Tom's vocal here doesn't do it for me, although musically I prefer his version.

Is that what it was - I thought it was just cut-n-paste gone awry, but who's to say the Bourbon didn't have its part to play...

Listening to that song reminded me of Waits' "Step Right Up" which of course is epic...
