I have just ordered a copy from Sher, mail order - I phoned JazzWise magazine first, who are usually a good UK source of books like this. They said that they had a shipment in from mid Jan - but that they had all sold out and they are expecting another shipment from the US next week!!

It must be doing well over here! :)

i was at gryphon stringed instruments in palo alto today to try out some ridiculously expensive acoustic guitars (:ninja:) and just happened to see mr. fuqua's book. i had to get it, just seeing the name on the cover, but i've always been interested in learning how to make walking bass lines. just something i never really got my head around.

never saw this announcement, but congrats on the book, ed! :hyper:

just ordered the book with an amazon gift card. can't wait! i have some other bass books lying around (scale systems for double bass, ray brown bass method, ed friedland's building walking bass lines) but i have a feeling this is going to be the one i'm looking for to help foster new walking ideas and get out of the old, rote habits and arpeggios. :)

I just bought a digital copy of this book for Kindle via Amazon. While I was aware the digital copy wouldn't include an actual CD, it seems as though it doesn't come with the tracks at all. Does anyone know where I can get just the tracks? I tried the website and no dice.

The man himself! Great book you've put together here. Focused and to the point, exactly what I was looking for. Just wish I could try more than the sample on the website!

I did email Sher Music to ask about it. I tried looking for the tracks on iTunes but couldn't find them. Only the book appears to be available.

Dude, I see you are active here. Thought of you when the following Off the wall question occurred to me.
Do you remember when Bill Cosby appeared on the "carson" tonight show (late 60's or early 70's)?
He had a tall, black bass player with a elongate electric bass (fiddle?) who pranced around the stage laying down an amazing jazz/funk riff.
Any clue about this event?
yr pal ken sharp
