Uh, how is the T-Pain version polarizing?

I don't see what's funky about this cover or how it could be polarizing. It's a pretty faithful cover with some more atmosphere from the keys. I think T Pain is just broadening his listeners experience by showing his influences. I think it's pretty darn great and it's good to hear T Pain without that god-awful auto tune sound.

It's not polarizing to people with open minds. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a number of old-school, hardcore Sabbath fans (or rock fans in general) who will consider the very notion of a guy like T-Pain doing a song like War Pigs to be virtual blasphemy, no matter how well it's done.

Not polarizing. Taste expanding. He does have a great voice and great taste in music. Don’t Stop Believin’ is another standout track on that album for me.

No, I mean with acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, Dobro and stand-up bass. Bill would roll over in his grave from Billy’s version.

I ran into Billy at Elderly Instruments about ten years ago. He’s from a small town about 40 miles from here. He was very low key but I knew he was going to be a huge talent. He played some acoustic guitars and I tried to keep up on mandolin but damn, that boy is amazing.

*This* is the funky version. I desperately want to play it but my band says no.

I tried to get my jazz band to play some off-genre covers, same with my old timey fiddle band. No-one else got it and wouldn't do it. Man, I love to see genres twisted like that.
