Up for grabs is this Warmoth Jazz Bass featuring a lightweight ash body with beautiful grain and a very pretty flame maple neck and fingerboard with pearl block inlays, very neatly applied. Weight is 8 lbs 12 ozs on my scale. This is the third Warmoth bass I've put together and definitely the nicest; in terms of wood and more importantly, tone. The ash/maple combination yields a punchy and dynamic response which is nice and balanced tonally. The tone I had in mind was early Marcus Miller a la "We Want Miles" and I am happy to say this gets me there - it's a big ol' booty thumpin' funk stick, by God! Unfortunately, my reach seems to be getting shorter as I get older and I am finding the 34" scale a bit too long for comfort. Other than that it's a very comfortable bass and fairly well balanced with the lightweight Gotoh GB640 tuners. Also, the lower horn has been shaped to allow for unfettered access up to the highest frets as on the Lakland Darryl Jones bass. My apologies to Lakland but this bass smokes the DJ4 I recently compared it to in terms of resonance and tone, the DJ4 sounded tired next to this. Both the body and neck/fingerboard are finished in 5 coats of Tru-Oil which I find pleasing to the touch and easily repairable if necessary, which it's not as the bass is just about mint. Neck pocket is nice and tight. What else - the bridge is a Gotoh 201 and the pickups are Dimarzio Model Js which bring it all up front compared to the Area Js I swapped them for. Also included is a brand new Body Glove gig bag which is nicely padded and well constructed. I'd be interested in a 30" scale bass to trade but for outright sale the price is $750 with fees split between myself and the buyer. And now, the pics......

Thanks for all the trade offers! I should probably narrow it down some, though. The two 30" scale basses that interest me most at the moment would be another Warmoth, preferably with an ash body, and a Cort Action Jr. in walnut. However, I am still open to others.....

Pardon me, is there anything really different tonewise from an ash bodied jazzbass with 70's pickup possitioning? As I see this one have the classic 60's pups.
Thank You
