Yeah .. a plain Poplar body is the cheapest and with a solid color....... who'd know ?? and with a regular top (non up choice) it's still a real deal ( I'm thinking of getting a Poplar/ Koa rear route P-Bass body with the two P pickup routs for my next build.

Like i said there are a number of things that change the price REALLY quick. Its kind of hard to say what an average price for a Warmoth body or neck is.

I try to give each one of them enough love.
These days, the one with the black body (#5 from the right) gets the most playing time, because it is my pickup "testbed". I routinely swap the pickup to compare tones. Currently it has a single Seymour Duncan ASB-5 active bridge pickup.

I love the hipshot O rings but what would you put ?
Black metal ones to match the bridge and tuners, I guess (say, the 1176 ones over here). The Hipshots just look a bit "plastic" to me compared to the shiny black bridge next to them. Of course it could just be that the picture doesn't do them justice.

Well if you want to go the custom route like i did you can always get a pretty much unrouted gecko body, have a custom neck done and routing to fit whatever pickups and bridge you want. Itll cost more but you get what you want.
Yep, that's what being a Warmoth owner is all about! I did consider the custom body/neck option. I don't have the level of woodworking chops needed, so I know it'll cost me.

Get a G4..... I know... the neck mount is different... but it's the same body and with a Warmoth style neck.... it's soooooo close . Just not a 35" scale......
I had thought the horns were thicker on the G4 and dismissed it earlier, but I just compared the two bodies again... I think that because the G4 body is a tad smaller, the horns only seem larger, but are probably the same size as the Gecko horns.

So, there appear to be new options on the body and neck builders: 30" and 32" "Warhead" necks, a short scale G4 body, a short scale singlecut G4 body and "Standard 5" bodies and necks.
