Warmoth Question

So, sometime in the next few months I will be in a position to purchase a new bass. I have slowly shed basses over the past 6 years because of financial necessity, so it's nice to be able to start moving in the other direction. Have not been able to find the right one, so I have been thinking about a Warmoth build. When I priced out exactly what i want, it was way to steep. Then the other day, I browsed the in-stock, which I had assumed was priced similarly to using the builder tool. Pleasantly suprised to find the prices so much lower.

So, the question is, for those that might have watched the inventory over time, is it primarily unfinished, as it is now, or do a wide variety of the availble finishes roll through on a variety of the available bodies?

I am thinking about either a chambered mahogany explorer, or a swamp ash z-bass, likely in some sort of orange finish. But, given that one is waiting for single items which will vary, have to be flexible on the details.

Also, think all-rosewood, fretted necks with the V shape and no fretboard inlays ever show up on the in-stock?

Thanks for any insight

I have watched them with dreams of assembling my own and they seem to have a decent amount of variety. They seem to often have swamp ash bodies although I mainly drool over the Gecko and the Jazz types. I have also noticed that the in stock parts are MUCH lower (well sometimes) but I would think you would want to still be pretty flexible if you want to put it together soon. Now you've gone and done it...I'm looking at their site again...

sorry, was unclear in my original post....meant the V headstock shape.

rosewood boards i am sure are common, but i meant (also unclear) an all-rosewood neck, not only board.

In that case, you're probably not going to find many exotic V headstock necks.
The showcase is mainly for common items that sell quickly. Necks like the V headstock don't show up too often, because they are not big sellers, so when they do, they are usually plain, every day Maple/Rosewood or Maple/Ebony, etc.

What you want is pretty specific, so you should probably just custom order.
