I have a little bit to go before I have the money for either but I am caught between getting a warmoth neck and body or a spector euro 4 string.
My current bass is a spector rebop and I love it but I just don't get enough variation in the sound. The reason I only consider the spector euro is because I want a bass with a P/J setup, and I love the way the neck of my spector feels so I know i'll love the euro.
But I kinda have this vision of a bass I'd customize from warmoth...the thing is, I wouldn't know if it would be as comfortable as the spector neck.
What I have in mind if I go the route of warmoth:
Fender J-bass body
Walnut body with a nice laminate walnut top, AAA birdseye maple neck and fretboard (laminated) with reverse right handed positioning
Pearloid blocks and binding
A black rickenbacker bridge

The thing is, I have no skill in assembling the bass so I would take it to a luthier----
Is a bass with these parts possible?
Also, I am clueless as to preamps but I want it to be an 18 volter...any recommendations?
And finally, would you go the warmoth route or the spector route? They'll end up costing about the same.
Edit: I also forgot to mention, one of my favorite aspects of my spector is the sloping bridge....instead of it ending in pointy corners, it ends in a slope making double thumping much more comfortable.
Are there any bass's that have the P/J pickup set and this sloping neck?
Or any sites similar to warmoth that can do this slope?
