warwick corvette proline?

anybody heard of one? it has the single coil neck pup like a passive corvette but also has a humbucker at the bridge.... its passive or active and i was just wondering if anyone had any experience with one of these basses...... it has a bubinga body, are these expensive/cheap to buy new in comparison to the regular models?

cheers

This is not a proline. The only model with a single coil + humbucker would be a FNA jazzman. They are active and can be mixed since they have a flamed maple top (proline has a flamed maple body) and both have gold hardware. Bubinga body would be a custom option since they come standard with flamed maple top and ash body. They are truly awesome basses, one of my favourite warwick model. Sadly, they have been discontinued this year. If you have a pic of it, it'll help confirm these informations.

ok buddy here is some pics of the bass, im hoping its what its supposed to be as ive just bought it :hyper:

Corvette Jazzman FNA. Corvette Prolines had 2 J PUs, IIRC as wellas maple bodies & active preamps.

Edit: You know, on closer inspection of your pics, I'm thinking this bass is a Vette Standard that has been modded w/a MM PU. I don't think stock Jazzman(or Streamer)FNAs came w/wenge necks. The solid bubinga body also says Vette standard to me.

Re-edit: FUNKY KNOB PLACEMENT! Non-stock flags goin' up here...

yeah im not sure what the hell it is either, all the fna jazzman basses i looked at have the neck pickup on an angle.... maybe its some sort of factory custom? anyways i emailed the guy askin for the serial number but have had no reply yet

im sure this thing is a standard thats been modded, looking at the body you can see what looks to be routing for a j style pup thats been re-routed to take the new pickup.... pleased ive not payed for it yet, if it turns out to be a lemon im not buying, will just have to wait to see what the serial number comes up with i suppose

how much would something like this be worth? i mean its not really what im looking for as i want my first warwick to be the real deal.... but if i can get it cheap enough it might still be worth getting to sell onto someone that would like it

I've seen wenge-necked(preferable for me & may command a higher price)stock Vettes go for $650-$800 IIRC. Personally though I wouldn't touch it; I love wenge but the mods totally throw the value off. The routing probably looks worse in the flesh, & the knobs hurt my eyes a bit.

it cost £350, which is about $500, ive not payed for it yet and i have obviously got good grounds to back out of the sale as it was falsely advertised, the cheapest ive seen a second hand corvette passive was about £450, so i think its cheap enough, just dont think its for me......
