Vintage Beast

This bass was made in the year 2000, and I bought it in 2003-2004

I've been its sole owner for around 20 years and it's served me well. But this bass still has a lot of life left in it.

Trade Interest: I'm looking to get my hands on a nice 5 string. I've been very interested in getting an Ibanez SR5CMLTD (That blue Carribbean Islet version from the Ego Death Polyphia music video.) I'm open to other offers as well, but please, nothing Fenderesque/Ernie-Ballesque. Cash is kinda king here but if you just so happen to have that SR bass, color me interested.

This bass has been gigged, it's taken lumps, it's been downtuned to oblivion and yet it's never complained. The truss rod has plenty of turn left, and the frets are just great. The only signs of wear on the bass are the very end of the fretboard where the strings have clearly rubbed against the wood during the most ham slap sessions. The pickups have been delicately weathered, and like most MEC pickups of this age, their "Dynamic correction" and "MEC" logo have faded.

This bass was made well before Warwick was doing German Pro Series, and it was simply known as a German Warwick at the time (as opposed to a Rockbass, which this is not.)

The wood is rugged and resistant to damage, and while it doesn't require oiling, I do recommend it to make it sparkle and look super aesthetic. I'll even include some beeswax and what remains of a Warwick toolkit (which I bought on my own), free of charge.

This is a Warwick Corvette Standard, in natural oil, made of Bubinga. The neck is Ovangkol, and the fretboard is Wenge. It has bell bronze frets, and a brass nut (Just a Nut 3). It has Warwick's proprietary MEC pickups, Dynamic Correction, and it runs in passive. The knobs are (from neck to bridge) Volume, Blend, and Passive Tone Control. The only things that have been changed are the nut (formerly a Just a Nut 2), and the strap pegs, which have been replaced with Dunlop Straploks.

This bass is very well made. It's as solid as a rock, and the fit and finish are perfect. The woes of mid millennium warwicks are not present on this bass, and it's a real time capsule to the brand's best days.

Owner's note: The nut is not glued to the spot whereupon it lays. You are perfectly welcome to glue it if it bothers you. It doesn't move when the strings are at tension, and thus I just chose to let it remain bound by gravity and tension.

I'm not in a hurry to get rid of this bass, so please, no low ball offers.
