I have a really nice neck-thru Infinity that's in near new condition that I'd like to trade or sell for $2,500 including shipping to the USA.

It's a fabulous bass with an amazing array of sounds with a great growl & loads of power if required but I've found that a 5 string is more useful to me in my band so it's not getting played much these days. Lovely to play and a neck to die for!

With the global market being so depressed and the cost of importing and exporting being so high I thought that maybe a trade from Europe, with a European bass, to the US, for a US made bass, might make some decent financial sense.

Over here in the UK we are being asked to pay top dollar for US made instruments whilst I know that European basses are priced highly in the US. If someone is interested in a trade then all we'd have to worry about would be the shipping and any import duties (which shouldn't be too high!).

I think the Infinity is Warwick's most expensive stock bass and has a wide range of sound options. Lots more information here - http://www.warwick.de/modules/produkte/produkt.php?katID=14452&cl=EN

Musician's Friend are pricing a new Infinity like mine at $5,119 http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Warwick-Infinity-Bass-NeckThrough-4String?sku=519134 with a guaranteed lowest price deal so I'm guessing this is a reasonable starting point if it were new.

It really is in near perfect condition and the only marks I can see are some fading on the control pots and a really tiny pin-prick mark on the neck (so small you really need to look closely to find it but I want to be as open as possible).

Things I'd be interested in would be: MTD, Sadowsky NYC, Fodera, Roscoe, Ken Smith, Lull, Lowend, Skjold etc. I'm really only looking for a 5 string.

I don't have any feedback here but have bought and sold many basses all over the world (I have an EBay 100% positive score of about 375!) and can get some references if anyone is at all worried about trading with a Brit :)

I've recently bought an amp from Perfect Bass (thanks again Brandt!) and a Lakland from a US dealer and am a fully verified international PayPal customer if any deal might require a cash adjustment.

I've attached a couple of very basic pics but can easily supply much higher resolution ones if anyone's interested.

So, there you go, anyone fancy some trans-Atlantic trading?

I've taken a couple of new pictures with a flash that, hopefully, highlight the flame a bit better :)

I've had questions about a price if I wanted to sell rather than trade so thought I'd post up a response here as well.

I would take $2,500 to include shipping to the USA. Not sure how long delivery would take as I can't remember how long my last bass took to arrive but happy to work out delivery options and timing if anyone is interested :)

  4. I hope I'm not treading on toes here but I may be able to help you out with delivery times etc. :)

I sent a bass from the UK to a fellow Warwick and TB Forum member via Transglobal and even though it was collected from the UK on 12-23-08, it arrived with its new owner on 12-26-08... yep Boxing Day over the Christmas period. So delivery should be no more than 2-3 days with that service and with insurance up to $4000 it cost approx $125; obviously less insurance makes it cheaper as more than a 1/3 of the cost of delivery was for insurance.

I will add the caveat that I was happy with that service but if for whatever reason a buyer or seller felt it didn't fulfill their needs (cost v speed etc) there may well be other services available; however, that was about the cheapest that 'I' could find that offered adequate insurance and a swift delivery time.

    Nice Warwick btw :D

Thanks for that Mr Hunt - or may I call you Warwick :)

I checked these guys out and they seem really good.

I'm happy to confirm a price of $2,500 shipped to the USA with insurance at the same value.

They really are lovely basses and have a great 'core' sound with lots of flexibility as well.

I'm afraid this one is now heading to Barcelona though.
