Warwick V Spector

Looks like the Hazlab or Hazlab copy preamp in that Spector! (Which, by the way if youre not familiar with the Spector preamps, are the more desirable pre). Either way, get in the car now and go get it! That Spector is a bit of a rare bird. Spectors with EMG J's arent as common, and as pointed out, that Pro Line is fairly worn.
Back in the day, I owned 3-4 Warwicks, one of which was a Corvette Pro Line...its was a great bass and had a nice figured top, the sound was fine, but I didnt care for the neck...but thats just me. I now own zero Warwicks.....but I do have 7 Spectors If you have any concerns, post your pics over in the Spector club and ask my friends there.
Seriously though, go get that Spector.

Yes, the Original Hazlab Preamps that were used in the USA Spectors, and are still used in the USA Spectors are the most desirable preamps for the Spector. Then came the Hazlab copies that were in the import Spectors like the NS2A's and some CR's, which are awesome as well . Spector then developed the Tone Pump preamps, and also used EMG preamps in some CR's and Euro's. There are fellas in the Spector club that can explain this in incredible detail...so come over and check it all out. If that really is a pre-ReBop CR with a bolt on neck, I myself have never seen one.

Maybe the Warwick? I had two of those and they were both rock solid for bolt-ons (Corvette std bubinga german, 93 Streamer bolt-on)

If it were a neck through Spector Euro it wouldn't even be close though. The one of those I had (NSCRFM or whatever the all-maple ones were called) was light years better than both Warwicks I had.

I'm fairly certain this is the model as it doesn't fit in with other examples. Not a Rebop due to pickup config, not a NS-2JA-R due to colour. & serial.

I reckon I'm leaning towards this one, better price, I like spectors anyway. I'll show some better photos when I get the chance.

Definitely drop into the Spector club with that photo of the bass and the pre and one or more of those fanatics will have answers for you pronto. Even if it's not a Haz, they'll tell you what we're looking at here. Did the mention a serial number or country of origin that might be stamped or hand written on there??

Fyi... I took the Aguilar pre out of my Spector and had a Haz put in (also referred to in the Club as a US9) and it slays!

Given the two choices, I'd go with the German Warwick.

My personal experience has been that the Spector NS body is more comfortable than the Corvette body. The center of gravity is really weird on that design.
