Washburn CB14???

i'm looking to buy a new bass, i play in a jazz setup for the most part right now, but i also play alot of funk and rock, i've been looking at a washburn CB14 because it's fairly cheap, anyone have any thoughts on it?

I'm sure you are now long since past this, but I figured I'd post my experience with it here for anyone who is interested.

I picked one up recently. It had the colcbolo top, got it for 250 bucks new on eBay (as a factory second, due to a couple of very small finish cracks on the cocobolo top).

I got it home, checked it out, the top is beautiful you really have to look for those finish cracks. Needed of course a good setup/intonation/strings and the battery was dead, the usual stuff. This one also needed more foam under the pickups as they were rather loose so I took care of that and adjusted the pickup height.

Thing plays like a dream. Neck is slimmer than an Ibanez SR if that tells you anything. It's almost effortless to play, and it really has some tone (the active pickups give it real punch).

I think for what I paid it's a steal. I love playing this bass. I just wish I had gotten one long ago.

So I would say give it a try. I expected it to be heavier than it is. It's just the right weight and balances great (I have a 4 string).
