Washburn T24 Taurus, modding

So I got a Taurus a while back and decided now that I would make some adjustments to try and build something just for me.
After fixing the intonation and blah blah, I quickly became aware of why this thing was so cheap. The screws are like butter, inside the bridge to raise the aciton and intonation. So... question for the masses (hopefully the educated portion) Will getting a badass bridge change the tone at all? Will getting J EMGs give me any more low end, (this bass has great clarity; however, it is in serious need of some balls) and does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to make this bass ballsier. I don't want to do any unnecessary drilling etc. I'd just like to make mods that will be basically plug and play as far as hardware goes. Anyone got some knowledge for me?

The changes you have in mind will help. Keep in mind that the EMG's will require you to replace the existing pots as well (which probably would'nt be a bad idea anyway). Any number of after market bridges would be an upgrade from the stock bridge.

check the measurements first of the pick ups you're planning to use. the pick ups of a washburn taurus (be it a t24 or t25) don't have standard sizes.

i hink th ebridge will fit right in. but again, check the first.


if you do a search, there have been several threads about the pick ups and there's one where a guy placed dimarzio's in it and loved it's just that he had to do some routing.
