Wattson EFY-6 Fuzz - where can I get one?!

Wattson Classic Electronics just came out with a modified super fuzz called the EFY-6 Fuzz with some awesome mods that I would have included if I'd built one myself. I just got an email from Prymaxe saying they were available but as soon as I tried to buy one they said they were out of stock! ARG!!! This has happened every single time I've tried to buy from Prymaxe!

I could add it to my cart. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo

It was supposedly 15% off at Prymaxe plus free shipping and a return policy. Also the first batch had a screwed up screen print and that's what Wattson was selling directly. The point is Prymaxe keeps offering discounts on things they are promoting in their emails, but don't even have in stock. It's happened to me 4 times already. It's like the Musician's Friend promos that offer discounts on everything except anything you'd want because the list of exclusions is so long it'd take a life time to read.

Has anybody tried a Wattson EFY-6 on bass? What is your feedback on this pedal.

I had a FY-2 (a complete different pedal) a year ago or so and like what this builder is doing.

I asked the builder the same question. He doesn't have a bass. Someone else told me that it would be harsh sounding but that someone could probably make it work for a buzzy/harsh fuzz sound.

I still want to try it though.

I think the EFY-6 works well on bass. It doesn't have any significant low end suck and being able to dial out the octave up can give the sound more depth and thunk. It really does sound just like the bass tone on Gratitude by the Beastie Boys. While it does have a baked in tone color, it's a good one and there is some versatility to be had between the controls. If you like the Superfuzz sound the Wattson EFY-6 is a good pedal to get you there.
