Thought I should introduce myself. My real name's Ken (I know, not much of a stretch) and I'm a "utility infielder" musician - I started out playing keys at the age of 3, added guitar at age 17, and bass a few years ago - I'm 38 now. I decided to get more serious about my approach to bass recently and began actively participating in HC's bass forum and thought this would be a good one to frequent as well. I'm confident I'll have some worthwhile input and tons of questions as well.

Current rig (because sooner or later it will come up) is one of three basses - a Warwick Dirty Blonde Thumb Bolt-On (#6 of 299!), a 1989 Fender Stu Hamm Urge (for sale if anyone's interested) and a recent model Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. They all currently go through an Eden WTX-260 head with a single Euphonic Audio 1x12 "Wizzy" cab and a second cab is pending - either another Wizzy to bring me to 180W through the two cabs, or possibly one of the Epifani 3x10 ultralight cabs to take advantage of the full 260W of the head. I'm also getting ready to take the plunge into fretless.

Although I'm far from an expert bass player, don't hesitate to ask me about computer based music production, synthesizers, or guitar gear. Looking forward to participating here!

Thanks! I'm quite happy with it. I wanted "hi-fi" piano tone and the combination of instruments and rig definitely gets it there. Oddly, as much of a pedal whore as I am with my guitar rig, I prefer to run the bass dry.

Saying what you have for sale is a nono unless you are a supporting member

Posting in the wrong forum is also a nono, which you did, this is the basses forum, not as in "Bass guitar stuff" but as in an actual Bass (Look at this bass / opinions on this bass etc...)

BUT, im sure you'll be as addicted as everybody else in no time and learn all the little minute rules... btw, so you know... you officially spend too much time here when you no longer mix up the "Miscellaneous" forum and the "Off Topic" forum.

Besides that, you'll be speaking in lingo in no time... We already see you are GAS'ing for a fretless

I like to run my bass dry too. I've had a few pedals and none of them really went to any use. As Rakie said, fill out your profile so we can see what you own/have owned. Post some pics of your gear in this thread so we can all see too!

The is the biggest forum rule... No pic, no bass....


But its easy to find a pic of a bass so... You have to have a pic of YOU with the bass... holding todays Newspaper with a banana split. Or it just doesn't count.
