Waza Craft ideas?

Probably an OC-2 reissue but honestly I think the entire line is just a cash grab. I highly doubt there is any difference in build quality. I mean, have you ever broken a standard Boss pedal?

Can’t speak for every Wazacraft reissue. But the DC-2w Dimension C ups the game on the original DC-2 by including an SDD-320 Dimension D mode that gets the sound of the old Dimension D studio rack unit. So you’re getting two distinct effects for the price of one. It also has better switching and offers stereo in and out. It’s not just a straight reissue despite sounding like the originals. You do get a lot more for your money with the DC-2w compared to paying insane amounts for an original since those are now considered collectible.

Of course if you just want the Dimension-C sound, and don’t want or need stereo (although that feature really makes me prefer the reissue over the original because it’s one effect that really shines and sounds truly amazing when you output in stereo) the Behringer CC300 (since replaced by the TCE 3rd Dimension) will get you 99.9% of the sound of the original BOSS pedal for around $60 USD street vs about $240 for a gen-u-ine DC-2w.

Cool effect.

Another cool “static chorus” or “antichorus” pedal is the Luxe from DigiTech. I got one on sale for $40 and it provides a similar but not quite the same sort of sound since all detuner type effects are basically a chorus minus the LFO which provides the modulation component in a traditional chorus pedal.

Have you priced a Luxe lately? It's insane.
I got mine for under 40 back when Alto Music and a few others on Amazon were selling them dirt cheap. But now the price is back up to $149 new.

It's a fun pedal, but not $149 worth of fun. Glad I got mine when I did. Should have ordered two.

The value is not really better construction quality or durability though. It's the additional modes that hugely expand the potential of each pedal; accessibility in the sense that some of the standard models are discontinued, rare, and expensive; and also the improved buffer.

Agree and same here. I’m just looked and saw some for $80. But that was the lowest price I found. And that’s a bit proud for a pedal that admittedly has a somewhat limited use with bass. My guitarist SO uses it far more often than I do. Ditto the Dimension C. Ours are both sitting over in her pedal pile rather than mine right now.

Just for the record, I was never that big a fan of chorus or most detune effects on bass. A little (and not very often) goes a long way for me.

Go look at that $80 one, probably used. I found one used for 80 the other day.

Yeah for bass it's a very limited use pedal.
Leave it at noon and it thickens the sound up a little bit. Roll it over to 11 and its good for some Alice In Chains "unplugged" stuff, Nirvana too. Roll it on over to 9 and you can have that same wavy sound the guitar uses on Nirvana's "Come As You Are".

And to me it was worth 36 bucks for that.

from what I have seen they are priced higher than the originals go for on Reverb and sorry but the mods don’t really do much for me.

but I am happy you like them

About what I paid - and the same opinion.

HM2, FZ2, and to a lesser extend the OC2 and DD2 are the big ones. I would tentatively add the Slow Gear to that list but it has been cloned to death and doesn't really have the same appeal as the others these days. HM2 and FZ2 are by far the ones people most often request though.

They already did the only one I had any interest in, the Dimension C. And made it far better in the bargain. And cheaper than what the originals were going for on eBay. Someone else here mentioned the HM2. Yeah, I’d like to see that one as well.

My thoughts are:

Heavy Metal HM-2w -with a custom voice for the bass mod that I have on my hm-2

Hyper fuzz Fz-2w

Both are definitely seeing a resurgence in popularity and I think Boss could make some money on a reissue, even if not a Waza-specific product.

Also, surely it's time for a Trem TR2w with a master volume and tap tempo
Definitely HM-2! What’s the bass mod on yours? I’m intrigued, as I have plenty of HM-2 style pedals. My favorites on bass are actually clones - the Earthbound Audio Throat Locust and Arion Metal Master.

My ideas for the HM-2 would basically be a blend of those two pedals. Give it a mid frequency selector like the Throat Locust and the stock tone of the Metal Master (seems more low-mid heavy than the original which is glorious on my bass). Maybe have a switch for standard mid or low-mid bump. They could pretty much do all the knobs with stacked pots like the Metal Zone and could probably put the switch somewhere too.

I think its basically the same as the Alchemy Audio mod:
Mod Service Only (No Pedal): Boss HM-2 Distortion Alchemy Audio Modified | eBay

I found someone selling the parts on ebay and got LifeIsUnfair Audio to perform it for me. Its got a clearer midrange and deeper lows, but it does loose that "skronky" tone you get with the dials rolled up on the stock HM-2 but is still an excellent distortion and is excellent on bass.

Considering alot of manufacturers have a variation on the HM2 now (Lone Wolf Audio, Wren & Cuff etc) and potentially with a reissue being able to crossover as both a Guitar AND Bass distortion, it could have quite a following. I was fortunate to get both my HM-2s for a good price and it didnt cost me much to get one modded BUT I feel that a Waza price would be cheaper than the used prices the originals go for.

I had a FZ-2 for a bit as well, and in honesty, its not very different to the Behringer version (sonically) and even the Behringer is getting more expensive and harder to get hold of. Some people are starting to do clones of the FZ-2 as well and the used price is going up and up as well. Boss could be getting some of that money going back to them.

An oc2 with improved output so that you don’t have a volume drop on the -1 solo’ed and switches to engage the various mods (I have a synth mod version it’s *insane*) would be great and I want to live in a world where it would sell but I’m not sure that’s true.

Nothing to be sorry for. They're great mods though. For example in the CE-2w, the CE-1 mode has better low end preservation than the original CE-2, making it better for bass. Plus it's the CE-1, which rules but is otherwise rare, expensive, huge, and invariably like 40 years old at this point.
