Weak output on 97 Squier P-bass

Hi Everyone,
I picked up this Squier P-bass, which I think is a 97 model, has a Serial Number that starts with NC7.
It has a really low, thin output. I know the jack is a little wonky, it cuts out if you move the cable.
But it is probably a third of the volume it should be.
The tone know also seems to act almost as another volume knob, to get to the 1/3 output volume.
It will also at times just fade in volume than increase again without touching the knobs.
Here are some pictures of the wiring. Does everything look ok?
Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
