Weird 70s MIJ Ibanez

Recently ran across this oddball on Marktplaats (Dutch eBay). I'm pretty familiar with Ibanez' 70s lineup but I've never seen this thing before. Is it legit? Or just some no-name with an Ibanez badge slapped on?

from a Hoshino Gakki importer's catalog, 1966. Granted the image quality is terrible but those nameplates do say "Ibanez".

Very 60's Guyatonish' headstock. Possibly made by Guyatone and badged Ibanez for Hoshino Gakki. Ibanez badged bass on Pinterest

this would be pre-lawsuit (70's era) as far as i can tell.

I think at this time they were not known for quality the way they were in the decades to follow, but i could be wrong on that.

It's probably got a similar sound to a Hofner. Likely not a bad instrument.
